If i have club feet what are the possibles of my guys getting club feet?
k so i have bilateral club feet and i have always wondered if my guys would have a chance of having club feet? i got club feet cuz my uncle had it but i dont know who else in my family has had it.
What causes clubfoot and other foot defects?

The exact causes of clubfoot are not known. In the past, doctors thought that the baby’s feet were twisted or cramped because of the way the baby lay in its mother’s womb. This is true of some foot abnormalities that correct themselves after birth (including calcaneovalgus and mild metatarsus adductus).

Scientists now believe that both genetic and environmental factors contribute to clubfoot. Environmental factors may include infection, drug use and cigarette smoking. One study found that women with a family history of clubfoot who smoked cigarettes during pregnancy had a 20-fold increased risk of having an affected baby.

Most guyren with clubfoot have no other birth defects, though occasionally other defects do occur. In a few cases, clubfoot occurs as part of a syndrome that includes a number of birth defects. For example, guyren with spina bifida (open spine) sometimes have a form of clubfoot. This is caused by damaged spinal nerves that affect the legs. In other cases, feet that are normal at birth may become twisted as a result of muscle or nerve diseases.

Can clubfoot be prevented?
There is no way to prevent clubfoot at this time. However, pregnant women should not smoke, especially if they have a family history of clubfoot. (Smoking also increases the risk of having a low-birthweight or premature baby, as well as other pregnancy complications.)

Genetic counseling can help parents understand the odds of having a guy with clubfoot. Generally, if a guy has an isolated clubfoot (no other birth defects present), the recurrence risk in another pregnancy is low (about 5 percent), but substantially greater than the risk in the general population.
Is it ok to buy a horse with club feet?
I am looking at buying a 7 year old horse for jumping and hacking. The horse i am looking at has a club foot which hasn't bothered him yet. Is it likely to have any problem with his front feet that are clubbed?
I would be very cautious before buying him as a jumper if it effects both front feet. I would suggest getting him on a trial first or jumping him thouroughly before buying. I wouldn't worry about lameness as much as stumbling. Ask many questions about his previous jumping experience. It is very hard to judge without seeing his exact feet and conformation. Some club feet are very hard and sound but some need shoes especially to jump or ride rough trails and it can be hard to get and keep shoes on club feet. Get your the honest opinion of his current farrier And one of your own choice. Just remember when in doubt you'll always be happier waiting for the next perfect horse than spending your money on one who can't do what you'd hoped and having to sell him. Good luck and be honest with yourself about his chances. You might meet him at a show in a few years and see him doing great you might see him pulling out of all his classes with sore legs and pulled shoes.
I was born with club feet and just found out that im 3 months pregant?
what are the chances my baby will have club feet? and also i got my depo shot before i knew i was pregant and i got it 4 days later will it harm my baby?
"No one is sure of the exact cause for clubfoot, but there is definitely a genetic component. Parents with clubfeet are more likely to have guyren with clubfeet. Even with normal parents, having a guy with clubfoot increases the likelihood of having another guy with clubfoot. Some other suggested causes are interuterine positioning (positioning within the womb) or breech births (babies positioned head up instead of head down), but nothing is certain. Clubfoot can also occur as a component of more serious birth disorders, such as spina bifida."

That is from livestrong. I looked all over the internet but couldn't find an actual percentage chance. It sounds like they say with today's medicine, there's the possibility to correct it at birth.

This is the only thing I found about getting pregnant after taking the depo shot "If a woman becomes pregnant while using Depo Provera, and continues her pregnancy, there may be an increased risk of premature birth"

But it didn't necessarily say anything about being pregnant before the shot, so I'm thinking there haven't been any recorded issues. You can definitely consult with your doctor, or call Depo Provera for free and ask them the details.
Does anyone have a baby with club feet that turn out?
My doctor looked at my baby's feet and thinks he might have club feet, but they turn out. I thought club feet turned in? He's sending us to a specialist.
It might be calcaneovalgus. Here is a list of conditions that are similar to clubfoot (talipes equinovarus). Sometimes the term clubfoot is used as an umbrella term for other foot conditions in newborns.

Can you join the NAVY if you were born with club feet?
I was born with club feet, and they were immediately corrected, and that was 17 years ago so, will they still let me join the NAVY? or is this like the whole thing with flat-footed people?
It all depends, you can tell your recruiter that, and when you go down to MEPS they examine you from head to toe. From there they will evaluate you and let you know for sure if you are able to join or not.
Club feet for those that know what it is?
I was born with club feet, and now my feet are starting to hurt more often. This has obviously stopped me from doing a lot of physical excersises, I would like to know if any one has any idea what kind I could do with out putting any or little pressure on my feet, apart from swimming.
It would be great as well if you had tips on how to alleviate pain on my feet.
Thanks a lot.

Help me understand baby club feet outcome?
I'm a first time mom to be in September, my doctor discovered that my baby girl has club feet and of course they don't know how it will be taken care of until after shes born. However I am terrified of how much pain and suffering she will be going through right after she comes into this world. I am deeply sad for her, I would like to know if anyone has been through this and how things turned out.
meet with the orthopedist who will care for your guy. take a list of questions & have them answered. meet with parents who have been through the same & get counseling so you can grieve your idea of perfection. your babe will be perfect regardless of what the feet look like.
What are the odds of haveing a baby with a twisted cord, club feet, cleft lip, many more problems?
My baby was born stillborn, with nothing growing the way it should have, i carried him for 32 weeks and the doctors did not know there was a problem. how rare is it to happen again? he only weighed 7.2 oz and 8 inches long. i wanna know what causes this to happen.
I am so very sorry.
I would like to suggest that before you try to conceive again, that you and your husband get genetic testing done. Both of you individually may be genetically fine, but the combination of the two of you may have genetic implications. I know a couple that had two guyren. It was discovered when they were 2 years old, that they had a genetic disorder that causes blindness, increasing seizures, and many more symptoms. The older guy has passed on, although these guyren have survived longer than any others that have the same disease. Both parents are genetically fine, but when they get together, their genes have certain information that when combined causes this illness.
You have my deepest sympathy.
How does a club foot or club feet disrupt homeostasis?
Or does it at all?
It is not the clubbed foot itself that causes the disruption in homeostasis.

It is the disruption in homeostasis that causes the clubbed foot.

Homeostasis is metabolic equilibrium actively maintained by several complex biological mechanisms that operate via the autonomic nervous system (ANS) to offset disrupting changes. The ANS is part of the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The peripheral nerves lie outside the brain and spinal cord and supply the muscles and sensory organs in the limbs. Disorders that affect the peripheral nerves are called peripheral neuropathies.

Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) is an example of a condition with clubbed feet and a disruption of homeostasis as symptoms.

CMT disorders affect peripheral nerves. The neuropathy of CMT affects both motor and sensory nerves. A typical feature includes weakness of the foot and lower leg muscles, which may result in foot drop and a high-stepped gait with frequent tripping or falls. Foot deformities, such as high arches and hammertoes (a condition in which the middle joint of a toe bends upwards) are also characteristic due to weakness of the small muscles in the feet.
